Manchester City Gives Big Contract Extensions
The Manchester City management doesn’t want any of the star players of the team to be lured away this summer and thus, they have given big contract extension offers to almost all of them.
The news of Vincent Kompany’s 6-year extension broke out earlier today and now, it’s been reported that the Sky Blues have held talks with the Argentina international Sergio Aguero as well and have let him know that they want to extend his contract too.
According to the new deal, in case he signs it, Aguero would be getting two hundred ten thousand Pounds per week for the next 5 seasons.
A couple of big Spanish clubs were believed to be planning to grab Aguero during this transfer window, but, now, with a lucrative new deal being offered to him, the 26-year old striker is most likely to decide to stay at Etihad only.
Aguero had to fight with several injuries in the previous season, but, still, he was able to play his part for the Sky Blues in their league campaign. Playing in 23 league matches, he had found the back of the net 17 times.
Apart from Kompany and Aguero, the other players whom City is trying to convince to ink an extended deal are the English midfielder James Milner and the Bosnian striker Edin Dzeko.
Milner is a bit hesitant to agree to get his contract extended though. He is concerned about the amount of playing time that he is going to get next season at City.
Joe Hart is also someone whom the City is willing to keep at Etihad. The Englishman, who has been the first choice goalie for the club since the 2010-11 Season, is going through the best period of his career at the moment. He has grown in stature in the last couple of years.
