Manuel Pellegrini expressed his dissatisfaction with his strikers after the recent Champions League defeat against Juventus at Etihad stadium. It was yet another poor outing for City in Europe.

Despite all the riches on offer and the dominance in the Premier League, City have continued to struggle with time in Europe. This has been one of the reasons behind their poor UEFA coefficient, which then leads to tough group stages. This has been the case once again in this campaign with City up against Juventus and Sevilla in the group stages. The former came close to winning the Champions League last season after being beaten in the final against Barcelona.

Sevilla, meanwhile, have come into the competition as winners of the Europa league. They will pose a formidable opposition as well; a fact reflected by their victory over Borussia Mönchengladbach in the opening game. City already trail Sevilla and Juventus by three points and once again face a huge task to finish as the group winners.
