SUCCESS WAS RIGHT MOVE
Manchester City midfielder Samir Nasri has said that building on the success achieved by the club this season will be the hardest part.
Manchester City managed to win their first ever Premier league title in their history after achieving a dramatic success over Manchester United on the final day of the campaign.
Many believe that it will propel Manchester City to even greater success in the coming seasons, with the club especially placing a lot of emphasis on winning the Champions League. Chelsea have become the first club after many years to win the Champions League for the first time in their history.
It has taken Chelsea nine years since being taken over by Russian owner Roman Abramovich to win the title. Samir Nasri reckons that it will be very difficult for Manchester City in the coming season to sustain the success they have achieved this season.
They won the FA Cup last season and have been rewarded with an even better price this season with the Premier league title. However, they have suffered early exits from the European campaigns in both the seasons. As a result, they will be once again handed a tough draw in the group stages of the Champions League next season.
"I still believe City are the club of the future. We hope to prove that next season, because building on success is the most difficult thing to do. We just need to improve in the Champions League. Some players didn't have the experience required last year, but next season will be much better," said Samir Nasri.
This his first season at the Etihad stadium for the Frenchman after completing his £ 24 million move from Arsenal in the summer. Nasri is currently in the French squad for the Euro 2012 that will take place in Poland and Ukraine.
